Consumerism(buy nothing day)+a little christianity today

I read an article on CNN about consumerism and how today is No Buy Day. I couldn't agree more with it.

The Christianity today article I have problems with. it seems hypocritical of them to fully support Bruce and Evan Almighty but reject this documentary.

when you are so very hyper-religious that you can't see the folly in your own traditions [not folly in JESUS!] then you know you've fallen to far into it.

in this case, Christianity Today's review tells me that they are in this place.

sad.

you should always be open to personal reflection and humble enough to see the folly in your own ways. and to be able to repent and return to JESUS!

good post.

you know sometimes after reading stories like this, I wonder whats the point you know?

Point of life i mean.

I'm just kind of curious, AJ. In which way does this make you question what the point is?
Are you trying to say that if the point of life isn't gathering possesions and giving them away, then what is the point?
Just wondering what exactly you mean.

If I am going to do something such as recyle and my brother doesn't recyle, whats the point of me recyling? this is always some I have struggled with, if what I am doing has no point why do it?

if you recycle and your brother doesn't then your cutting down on landfills. even if your brother isn't.

i agree with nathan, even though i don't recycle.

I also don't understand what that has to do with the point of life.

I just used so you could try to understand, my point, which is if I do something and somebody cancles out, I kinda have the mind set of who cares.
